An alternative theory (THAI) and framework (FAUC®)

Social complexity and uncertainty have an increasing impact on our social and working lives. Complementary to traditional techniques, individuals, organisations and societies therefore require an additional approach. An alternative theory (THAI) and a complexity based framework (FAUC®).

The Theory of Human Action and Interaction (THAI) constitutes the foundation for the Framework for Action under Uncertainty and Complexity (FAUC®). The theory explains the acting of humans in a complex and uncertain world. THAI is a synthesis of three strands in science: the Austrian school of economics, John M. Keynes' and Frank Knight's work on uncertainty and the modern complexity theory. THAI is being developed by prof. dr. L.H. (Lex) Hoogduin.

FAUC® is a framework to help individuals, organisations and societies to better understand complexity and uncertainty, to better diagnose their eco-system and to act more effectively. FAUC® is rooted in scientific theory (THAI) and based on many years of experience. The FAUC® has been developed during 2016-2017 by GloComNet in cooperation with Zanders.
