Jan Rotmans calls himself a "professor and a progressor". As a scientist he is focused on advancing society in the field of climate change and global change modelling. On the subject he published more than 200 pieces. He is the founder of the research institute DRIFT which stands for Dutch Research Institute for Transitions and he is a professor at Rotterdam's Erasmus University. To give the Netherlands a more sustainable future he co-founded the Urgenda-foundation in 2007. As member of the board he tries to encourage as many people as possible into this movement.
What makes this advocate of climate and social change so special you ask? Jan is not only advocating he is also doing. His plans aim at implementation and instead of just highlighting the problem Jan also provides solutions.
